EcoAssitant
EcoAssitant was piloted to provided a one stop environmental concierge service. The EcoAssistant environmental home improvement service was designed to help homeowners on their path toward a comfortable home and an earth friendly lifestyle. Scott (Business Development and Solar expert) joined three talented entrepreneurs Chrtine Backman (Energy Efficiency Mechanical Engineer), Keli Rutan-Jorgensen (Soil Scientist) and Leslie Crenna (Editor and Water Resource Expert) designed and piloted this startup in 5 Yolo county California homes
The four professionals were the EcoAssistant team following a deliberate process that allowed for ongoing personalized service recognizing that motivation, and celebration are essential elements of change.
Scott Approached EcoAssistant pilot homes and implemented plans to make those homes more comfortable and energy efficient. Other team members worked to improve the home’s outside area making them more functional and nurturative. With direct – indoor and outdoor environmental improvements in place, EcoAssistant would examine other areas to complete the linkage between consumption and environmental integrity such as moving clients to local banking and investments, vegetarian cooking, home baking, and green product sourcing.
EcoAssitant piloted 5 homes and learned that more incentives would need to be put in place in order for homeowners to make timely and consistent decision to bring their homes and purchase patterns in line with environmentally sound practices. Much was learned but the conclusion from the pilot was not to further invest in the business.
